Terms and conditions.
Version 26 October 2026 · 2026-10-26-gb-v1
These terms apply to donolink.co.uk, the DonoLink service for creators who live or are established in the United Kingdom, and to everyone who tips them through donolink.co.uk. Read them before you create an account, post content or send a tip. Together with the privacy notice, they govern your use of DonoLink. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and mandatory law and rights that cannot be limited by contract always continue to apply.
1. Parties and definitions
DonoLink is provided by Tovix, trading as DonoLink, a sole proprietorship established in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 98227475, VAT number NL005316890B06. DonoLink has no company or office in the United Kingdom; your contracting party is always Tovix. In these terms:
- creator: the user who uses a personal page and their own connected Stripe account to receive tips;
- tip and tipper: a tip is a voluntary payment to a creator through a DonoLink page; the tipper is the person who sends it;
- content: profile text, images, media, links, the name and message shown with a tip and any other information provided through DonoLink;
- payment partner: Stripe and any bank, wallet, card network or payment method involved in a payment.
2. Applicability and formation
These terms apply to every visit to and use of DonoLink through donolink.co.uk. A creator expressly accepts the version presented during registration; DonoLink records the version, language and time of acceptance and sends a durable copy by email. A tipper accepts the version presented at that time before confirming each payment; DonoLink also records the terms version and time of acceptance with the payment.
Different arrangements apply only when DonoLink confirms them in writing. An express written arrangement prevails in case of conflict. If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force and, where possible, the invalid provision is interpreted or replaced by a valid one with a similar purpose. You may not transfer your account or this agreement without written permission. DonoLink may transfer the agreement to a legal successor as part of a transfer of the business or service, provided your rights are not materially reduced; a consumer keeps all mandatory rights.
3. Account, age and verification
A creator must be at least 18, legally capable of entering into this agreement and acting on their own behalf; the account holder is always the adult who accepts these terms. A tipper must be at least 18, or at least 13 with permission from a parent or guardian for that tip. DonoLink is not intended for children under 13. A tipper may use only a payment method they are entitled to use. DonoLink and Stripe may request evidence of age, identity, residence, business, authority, bank account, source of funds or activities.
You provide complete, accurate and up-to-date information; do not let a third party use your account without permission; keep your login, two-factor, OAuth and OBS details confidential; and report loss, misuse or unauthorised access immediately. Activity through your account is treated as yours unless you show that it was unauthorised despite reasonable security.
Admission to DonoLink and the ability to receive payments are not guaranteed. A creator on donolink.co.uk must live or be established in the United Kingdom; their connected Stripe account is a UK account that receives tips in pounds sterling, and its country cannot be changed once the account has been created. Stripe also decides whether onboarding, payment methods, reserves, refunds, payouts or the connected account remain available. Payment processing services for creators on DonoLink are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement (stripe.com/connect-account/legal/full), which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. By completing Stripe onboarding, the creator agrees to be bound by that agreement as Stripe may amend it from time to time, agrees to provide accurate and complete information about themselves and their activities, and authorises DonoLink to share that information and transaction information relating to the payment processing services provided by Stripe.
In addition to emails that belong to your account, such as verification, payments and payouts, DonoLink sends a limited number of reminders until you have finished connecting Stripe. You can unsubscribe from those reminders through the link in each reminder; the other account and payment emails keep coming.
4. Creator obligations
The creator receives the tips and is responsible for their page, content, audience and use of the data they receive. The creator:
- describes truthfully who they are and what tips are for, and does not suggest a purchase, a right to repayment or a guaranteed service in return;
- holds all rights and permissions for the profile, alert, audio, video, logo and other content they use;
- complies with the law, sanctions, platform rules, Stripe rules and reasonable security instructions;
- treats tippers fairly and responds promptly to support, refund, fraud and dispute requests;
- processes tippers' personal data only lawfully, securely and for a clear purpose, and does not publish sensitive or unnecessary data;
- keeps enough funds available for refunds, chargebacks, fees and negative balances and cooperates with investigations;
- is responsible for their own tax, reports tips to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) where required, for example through Self Assessment, and keeps their own records.
Tips can be taxable income. DonoLink does not deduct or withhold tax and does not provide tax, legal or accounting advice, and it does not guarantee how HMRC or anyone else will classify an activity or a tip.
5. Tips and payment instruction
A tip is a voluntary gift from the tipper to the selected creator, typically to show appreciation for content the creator has already shared, without a purchase or any enforceable consideration. Tips are not charitable donations: DonoLink and creators are not charities, and tips are not eligible for Gift Aid or any other tax relief. No product, access, subscription, commission, gambling prize, loan, investment, ownership right, repayment promise or guaranteed service may be sold or promised through the tip flow. An alert, a name or message on screen, a media or sound request, a tip menu item or a response from the creator is not consideration, and the creator does not have to display, perform or answer it. A creator must not use DonoLink to raise money for a charity, a charitable purpose or on behalf of others. Any arrangement a creator nevertheless makes outside the tip flow does not turn it into a DonoLink sales service and falls outside DonoLink's responsibility; DonoLink may block such use. DonoLink provides creators only with technical platform features and is not a bank, payment institution, electronic money institution, escrow service, financial adviser, employer, partner or agent of the creator.
Before confirming, the tipper checks the creator, amount, name, message and payment method, uses only a payment method they are entitled to use and does not submit illegal, threatening, discriminatory, privacy-invasive or infringing content. Because a tip is a gift and not a purchase of goods, services or digital content, the 14-day cancellation right for online purchases does not apply to the tip itself. This does not affect your statutory rights, including your rights if a payment was not authorised by you or was taken twice or in error, and any chargeback rights you have with your card issuer. Subject to those rights, a tip is final once the payment partner has authorised it.
Stripe processes tips as direct charges on the creator's own connected Stripe account, in pounds sterling, and passes the separate DonoLink fee to DonoLink as an application fee. The creator is the merchant of record for each tip: the payment, any refund and any dispute or chargeback are recorded and handled on the creator's connected account. The creator's share is never a balance held by DonoLink.
6. Fees, payment methods and payouts
These rules describe DonoLink's fee. Stripe's own processing fees depend on the payment method, card type and origin, the connected account and Stripe's current terms; the actual amount is shown in Stripe after each payment:
- DonoLink charges a standard fee of 3.5% of each successful tip, regardless of the payment method; Stripe deducts this fee from the tip as an application fee;
- tips are paid in pounds sterling (GBP). The tipper pays in pounds; any currency conversion by the tipper's own bank or card issuer is outside DonoLink's control;
- debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are available when Stripe enables them for the connected account; Apple Pay and Google Pay use the underlying card and also depend on the device;
- Pay by Bank and Revolut Pay are offered only when Stripe has activated them for the connected account and the creator has not switched them off. The methods shown to the tipper at checkout determine availability. PayPal is not available yet;
- Stripe charges its own processing fees separately to the creator's connected account. Those fees depend on the payment method, card type, card origin and currency and are set by Stripe under its current pricing and the connected account agreement; they are not a DonoLink fee and DonoLink does not set them;
- currency conversion, disputes, refunds, chargebacks, network fees or other exceptions may lead to additional costs under the current terms of Stripe and the payment method;
- actual fees may differ because of individual Stripe pricing, card type, card country, currency, promotions or a price change. The amount recorded by Stripe and the relevant payment partner on the connected account is decisive and is charged directly to that account;
- an individually agreed DonoLink percentage may be higher or lower. The tipper pays the chosen amount unless they choose to also cover the DonoLink fee shown before payment. Stripe's processing fees remain with the creator's connected account, and the net amount is not guaranteed;
- Stripe decides on availability, reserves, set-off and the payout schedule, pays out in pounds sterling to the creator's bank account and may request further information or restrict payments or payouts;
- DonoLink may change its fee for future tips under article 16 but never changes a completed payment retrospectively. Amounts are calculated in pounds sterling in whole pence. The 3.5% is the full DonoLink fee: if VAT is due on it, the VAT is included in the 3.5% and not added on top.
Partner programme. A creator can switch their own referral link on and off in the dashboard. When a new creator signs up through that link, the referrer receives, for 3 months from that sign-up, the percentage shown in the dashboard (standard 25%) of the platform fee DonoLink actually receives on Stripe tips to that creator. The commission is calculated on the amount in euro that DonoLink actually received for its fee. The referred creator does not pay a higher fee as a result. Refunds, chargebacks or other reversals cancel the commission proportionally; a negative balance is set off against later commission. Self-referrals, fake accounts, spam or misleading promotion lead to forfeiture of outstanding commission and exclusion. DonoLink pays outstanding commission in euro by bank transfer or through Stripe; the referrer is responsible for any tax on the commission. DonoLink may change or end the programme or the percentage for new commissions; commission already earned remains. The referrer sees the username and sign-up date of a referred creator and their own commission, but never that creator's tippers, messages or balance; if that creator has their leaderboard turned off, the referrer only sees them anonymously and without a per-creator amount. DonoLink automatically checks every referral for self-referrals, including with Stripe verification data (bank account, person or company), email, browser and network. Commission only becomes payable after a successful check and lapses if the check finds that the referrer and the referred creator are the same person.
7. Refunds, chargebacks and negative balances
Tips are generally final, because the tipper deliberately chooses the creator and the amount and does not buy anything in return. Whether a tip is refunded is up to the creator, unless the law requires a refund, for example for a payment that was not authorised or was taken twice or in error. A tipper can send a request to support@donolink.nl stating the date, amount, creator, payment method and reason; DonoLink may forward the request and the necessary data to the creator, Stripe, the bank or the payment method. This does not limit your right to dispute a payment you did not authorise.
The creator is primarily responsible for assessing and funding a refund of a tip they received and must provide evidence promptly. Because tips are direct charges on the creator's connected account, Stripe, a bank or a payment method may also process a refund, chargeback, reserve, set-off or correction on that account without the consent of the creator or DonoLink. A reversal does not by itself determine the parties' legal rights.
To the extent permitted by law, refunded or disputed amounts, Stripe fees, Stripe's dispute fees, reasonable investigation and collection costs and any negative balance on the creator's connected account are borne by the creator. Stripe may set off or collect these under its terms. The DonoLink fee is not refunded automatically, but DonoLink takes mandatory law and any error directly attributable to DonoLink into account.
8. Prohibited use and rules
You must not use DonoLink for, or to facilitate:
- criminal, fraudulent, deceptive, sanctions-evading or money laundering activity, terrorist financing or fundraising without a required permit or registration;
- stolen payment methods, tipping yourself to cash out, artificial transactions, chargeback abuse, fee avoidance or manipulation of rankings, statistics, referrals or security;
- pornography or sexually explicit content, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, human trafficking, doxing, credible threats, incitement to violence or terrorist content;
- hateful discrimination, harassment, stalking, scams, impersonation or publication of personal data without a valid legal basis;
- infringement of copyright, trade marks, image or privacy rights or other rights of third parties;
- malware, phishing, scraping beyond normal indexing, unauthorised access, bypassing limits or disrupting DonoLink, Stripe or other users.
When a concern arises, we consider factors including severity, context, the reliability of the evidence, repetition, intent, the risk to users or payments and possible remedies. In urgent cases, or for fraud, security, illegal content, a court or authority order or a provider requirement, we may act immediately; otherwise, where reasonable, we first give a warning and time to put things right. Creators can set automatic filters for messages on their own page, such as a profanity filter and hiding links. DonoLink reviews reports with human review and uses automatic technical checks against fraud, spam and abuse.
Consequences may include: not displaying or removing content; temporarily restricting, blocking or terminating features, login, page or account; stopping new payments from being started at DonoLink; disabling imports, integrations or overlays; preserving evidence; supporting a refund or investigation; and notifying Stripe, banks, platforms or competent authorities. DonoLink may ask Stripe to restrict payments or payouts but cannot itself control funds, reserves or payouts managed by Stripe or a bank. Available funds remain subject to refunds, chargebacks, set-off, reserves, the law and provider rules.
We aim for a proportionate measure. We explain its main reasons, scope and duration by email no later than when it takes effect, unless the law or an order prevents this or disclosure would harm fraud prevention, security, the rights of others or an investigation. You may submit a reasoned complaint or appeal free of charge within 30 days to support@donolink.nl with relevant context or evidence. Where practicable, another staff member reviews it, and we let you know the outcome.
9. Reporting illegal content
Report suspected illegal content through the reporting form on DonoLink's legal notice page on donolink.co.uk or by email to support@donolink.nl, with: the reason why you believe the content is illegal; the exact URL or other location; your name and email address, unless your report concerns the sexual abuse or exploitation of children; and a statement that your report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. DonoLink confirms receipt of a report made through the form with an email address and handles reports promptly, carefully and objectively.
Misuse of the reporting or appeal process, such as repeatedly submitting manifestly unfounded reports or complaints, may be temporarily restricted after a warning. We consider the number, proportion, severity, consequences and apparent intent. A report made in good faith is never held against you merely because it turns out to be unfounded.
10. Content and intellectual property
DonoLink and its software, design, name and documentation remain protected. Apart from normal use of the service, you receive no ownership of, or right to copy, sell, reverse engineer or exploit, its code, branding or design, to the extent such a restriction is lawful.
You keep the rights in your content and confirm that you have all necessary rights and permissions. For as long as you use the service, you grant DonoLink a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, which it may pass on to the service providers it needs and sublicense, to host, secure, technically adapt, reproduce and display that content in order to operate, protect and promote your public DonoLink page. Content you place on a public page, alert or overlay is not treated as confidential; do not put secrets or data there that must not be public. You can end the licence for future use by deleting the content or your account, subject to backups, evidence, publications already shared and legal retention duties.
11. Third-party services and integrations
Stripe, Twitch, YouTube/Google, Kick, TikTok, Streamlabs, OBS, banks and other services are also subject to their own terms, availability and decisions. DonoLink is not a party to your agreement with such a third party and does not guarantee any API, account, reach, payment method, verification or payout.
You connect only an account you are authorised to use and may disconnect it at any time. A third-party outage or policy change may restrict or end a feature. DonoLink may immediately disable an integration that is unsafe or no longer permitted.
12. Availability and maintenance
DonoLink provides the service with reasonable care and skill and aims for secure, usable availability, but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure operation or that the service is suitable for a particular purpose. Maintenance, security incidents, internet or power outages, cyberattacks, provider or API outages, strikes, natural disasters and legal measures may interrupt the service. DonoLink is not liable for a failure caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control. We try to remedy a defect attributable to us within a reasonable time.
We may change or discontinue features for reasons of security, law, provider requirements or product development. For a materially adverse change to an ongoing creator agreement, we give reasonable advance notice and, where possible, an option to end the agreement, unless immediate action is necessary.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, DonoLink is liable only for proven direct loss that is the foreseeable and immediate result of a breach attributable to DonoLink, after DonoLink has received written notice giving it a reasonable period to remedy the breach and has failed to do so in time; no remedy period is needed where performance has become permanently impossible. The affected party must take reasonable steps to limit the loss and submit a substantiated claim as soon as possible. For creators acting in the course of a business, a claim lapses if it is not notified in writing within twelve months after discovery, and total liability per event is limited to the greater of the DonoLink fees paid by that creator in the preceding six months or £250; related events count as one.
For creators acting in the course of a business, DonoLink is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, missed tips, loss of revenue, profit, goodwill, data or opportunity, reputational damage, business interruption or the cost of replacement services. DonoLink is also not liable for content of creators or tippers, the tax or legal consequences of their activities, a refusal, reserve, refund, chargeback, block, outage or delay by Stripe, a bank, payment method or streaming platform, or unauthorised use of an account that is not attributable to DonoLink. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or deliberate recklessness, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Loss, recovery and cooperation
A creator compensates reasonable, proven loss and costs that arise directly because that creator breaches these terms or the rights of third parties, to the extent the creator is legally responsible. This is not an unlimited indemnity and does not cover loss caused by DonoLink or that DonoLink should have limited.
DonoLink notifies a relevant claim promptly, gives the creator a reasonable opportunity to provide information and does not settle unnecessarily at the creator's expense. Amounts due may, where legally and technically permitted, be set off or collected through Stripe; costs of collection follow the applicable law.
15. Termination and consequences
The creator agreement runs indefinitely, without a subscription fee or minimum term, and the creator can end it at any time through the dashboard or by emailing support@donolink.nl. A creator who is a consumer also has a legal right to cancel within 14 days of accepting these terms under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013; DonoLink handles any clear request to cancel in the same way and charges nothing for the account itself. Pending payments, refunds, chargebacks, claims, legal records and Stripe obligations continue to be handled. Closing your DonoLink account does not oblige Stripe or other third parties to delete their data or your account with them.
DonoLink may end the agreement with a creator by giving at least 30 days' notice by email, stating its reasons. Immediate termination is possible only where a legal or regulatory obligation requires it, for a compelling reason under the applicable law (such as fraud or a serious security risk) or where the creator has repeatedly breached these terms; DonoLink then states its reasons no later than when the termination takes effect. Restrictions and suspensions follow article 8. Provisions that by their nature continue, including those on fees, refunds, evidence, liability, intellectual property, disputes and legal retention, survive termination.
16. Changes to these terms and fees
We may change these terms or future fees because of changes in law, security, provider rules, costs, functionality or operations. For creators, we announce every change at least 30 days in advance by email or another durable notice, or longer where adapting reasonably requires more time. The creator may end the agreement free of charge before the change takes effect. A shorter period applies only where a legal or regulatory obligation requires it or where an unforeseen and imminent danger, such as fraud or a security threat, requires immediate action. A tipper is bound by the version presented before that specific payment; later changes do not apply to earlier tips.
17. Law, complaints and courts
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. The processing of personal data is governed in particular by the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, because DonoLink is established in the Netherlands, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, as explained in the privacy notice. We first try to resolve any complaint within 30 days through support@donolink.nl.
Disputes are submitted to the court that has jurisdiction under the applicable rules. If you are a consumer living in the United Kingdom, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live (England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland), and you do not have to bring a claim in the Netherlands.
Not exercising a right immediately does not mean waiving it. Electronic records, logs and provider records may serve as evidence, without limiting any statutory right to provide evidence to the contrary.
