Tip notifications in your Discord server

Your community also lives on Discord. With DonoLink, every tip can automatically post a message to a channel on your server, with the amount, the supporter's chosen name and their message. It is handy for thanking people off-stream and following tips from your phone.

Connect Discord

  1. In Discord, open the channel settings and then Integrations.
  2. Create a webhook and copy its address.
  3. Paste the address into your DonoLink settings.
  4. Make a test tip to check the message.

Why Discord notifications

You do not watch your dashboard all the time, especially when you are offline. A Discord message tells you straight away and shows your community that support is appreciated. You can also use a private channel just for you and your moderators.

How it works

Discord lets you create a webhook for a channel: an address that accepts automatic messages. Paste that address into your DonoLink settings. For every successful tip, DonoLink posts a message there. Only official Discord webhook addresses are accepted.

Treat the webhook address like a password: anyone who has it can post in that channel. If it leaks, delete it in Discord and create a new one.
